Counseling in Leuven, in English

Do you overthink, criticize yourself relentlessly, or feel that something is off without quite knowing what? Many of the people I see function well on the outside. They work, study and care for others. Yet underneath there is tension, exhaustion, or a mind that won’t settle.

I offer counseling in English for adults in Leuven, including international researchers, PhD candidates and professionals who have made their lives here.

What I can help with

Overthinking and excessive worrying.

Feeling disconnected from yourself, or searching for meaning and direction.

Stress and perfectionism.

Anxiety and feelings of emptiness.

How I work
My approach draws on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and existential therapy. We take time to look at what happens in your thoughts, your feelings and your body. The aim isn’t to fix everything at once, but to understand what is going on and to make choices that fit what matters to you. I have a background in philosophy, which shapes how I listen to questions about meaning and choice.

Sessions can take place in English or Dutch, whichever you prefer.

Practical

Sessions of about 50 minutes, €70. If cost is a barrier, a reduced rate is possible. Unfortunately, sessions are not eligible for reimbursement by Belgian health insurance.

Tuesdays (including evenings) and Wednesdays at Huisartsenpraktijk Lobergen, Diestsesteenweg 624, Kessel-Lo. Friday afternoons at AdFysio, Diestsesteenweg 178, Kessel-Lo. Both are a short bike ride from the city centre. Online sessions are also possible.

Current waiting time: about two weeks.

I don’t work with severe psychiatric conditions such as psychosis, acute trauma or active addiction. If that applies to you, I’ll gladly help you find the right care.
